Apple logoYesterday Microsoft announced the release date of Windows 8. Today it is Apple's turn to announce the release of OS X 10.8 codenamed Mountain Lion. The new version is available for developers and will come to Mac App Store in a couple of weeks for $19.99 as an update. OS X Mountain Lion brings a lot of things from iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to the Mac. Here are some of the features of Mountain Lion.

With Messages you can send free messages to anyone using iOS 5. Apart from text you can send photos, videos and documents. The new Notification Center informs you for anything important happens in your Mac for example whether you have a new email, a pending event or an available upgrade.

iOS users will know Reminders and Notes. Now you can sync all your reminders and notes between your Mac and your iPhone. Of course you can synchronize your files as well by using iCloud.

AirPlay Mirroring is another addition which allows you to stream content from your Mac to your TV by using Apple TV. Finally with the Game Center app on your Mac, you can play anyone on a Mac, iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

Here is a video showing the new features.

The new OS X Mountain Lion looks really nice for sure! Are you gonna try it?
