In the past I've posted some guides about various Unity Lenses and Scopes like Calculator Scope, YouTube Lens, PirateBay Scope, Grooveshark Scope, Wikipedia Lens and RottenTomatoes Lens. However once you install them there isn't any way to temporarily disable them if you don't need them. You can only uninstall them. Lens Toggle is a simple application which does just that. It allows you to quickly enable and disable the Lenses you have installed, including the default ones (Files, Music and Video Lenses).
To install Lens Toggle in Ubuntu Precise Pangolin 12.04 open a terminal and type:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:aking1012-com/lenstoggle
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python-lenstoggler
Once installed launch Lens Toggle from Dash.
After you've made your changes log out and log back in for the changes to take effect.
