google logoWhen you are in another country google.com redirects to a local version of google, like google.gr for Greece or google.be for Belgium. This means you will also get local search results and the menus might also be in this language. Here is how to avoid being redirected.

 

Just head to www.google.com/ncr. NCR stands for No Country Redirect. Therefore it will take you back to the regular google.com page. Note that it will immediately redirect you to google.com so if you don't see /ncr after you press Enter is normal.

You can't believe how annoying it has been to always have to head over to language settings for this.. thanks a lot for this tip! I thought no one else could possibly have the same problem as me..

Some way good other way not so

Regional specific sites are maintined for immediate response (distributed computing) and faster results. So rooting to source in this case google, may lead to a delayed response some times.
