facebook-logoI believe that most of you have a Facebook account and many of you are using Google Calendar to organize your everyday jobs. Through Facebook you were informed about an event which you'd like to attend. Therefore it would be good to have it in your Google Calendar. Of course you can copy it by hand but this takes a few minutes to do. So, here comes an extension for Chrome browser called Add Facebook Events to Google Calendar. Here is what you have to do.

Update: If you want to automatically synchronize your Facebook Events and Birthdays with Google Calendar read the following guides

How to import Facebook events to Google Calendar

How to import Facebook birthdays to Google Calendar

First of all install the extension from the link above. Just click Add to Chrome. No restart of your browser is needed.

facebook google_calendar_0

Now visit a facebook event page. A new link has appeared called Add to Calendar.

Just press it and you will be redirected to your Google Calendar Add event page. The following items are automatically copied to calendar.

  • Event name
  • Dates and times
  • Location
  • Event description
  • Link to event page on Facebook
You can preview the event and adjust it. When you are ready just click Save.
Now the event will appear in your calendar.

Note: It is only possible to add events to your default calendar. This is caused by a bug in the calendar API and cannot be solved easily unless Google fixes it. However, there is a workaround:
  1. On the event page click Add to Calendar
  2. Click Save
  3. On the yellow notification that appears click the event name
  4. Now select your calendar from the dropdown list and click SAVE again
Pretty easy, wasn't it?
