Let's say you have purchased a DVD movie and you want to be able to view it in your mobile, your iPod or even in your PSP. In this guide we will show how to do this easily using DVDFab Platinum. Put your DVD in the dvd rom tray, run DVDFab and let's get started!
Copy to Mobile
First we will see how to copy a DVD-9 to view it in your mobile phone. Choose the source directory (1) which would be your dvd rom drive and then click on Generic from the ‘DVD to Mobile’ panel (2).
Choose the directory where the files will be stored (1). You may choose which part of the video to convert, use the preview window to check which one is the main movie if you don’t want to have any extras, introduction etc. (2), your preferable audio (3) and subtitle (4) languages. Here I have chosen English as audio and Greek subtitles. When you are done press ‘Next’.
In this screen click on generic (1) and press ‘Configure’ (2).
In this screen choose the video type that is supported from your mobile (1), mp4 usually will be ok, as well as the ‘Frame Resolution’ (2). 176x128 shoud be ok. You may play with the rest options. In the Size(MB) (3) box you can see how much space the ripped video will need. Less bitrate means smaller file but also worst quality. When you are done press 'Ok'.
Now press ‘Start’ and the rip will begin.
When the whole procedure is completed click on ‘Finish’.
You will find the video file in your target directory under a folder named generic. Copy the video file to your mobile and you are ready!

Copy to iPod
Now we will see how to copy a DVD-9 to your iPod device. Choose the source directory (1) which would be your dvd rom drive and then click on iPod from the ‘DVD to Mobile’ panel (2).
From the the task list click on ipod (1). Next press ‘Configure’ (2).
Here you can choose your preferable video format (1), h264 or mpeg4, the video ‘Frame Resolution’ (2). You may play with the rest options. In the Size(MB) (3) box you can see how much space the ripped video will need. Less bitrate means smaller file but also worst quality. When you finish press OK.
Now press ‘Start’ and the rip will begin.
When the whole procedure is completed click on ‘Finish’.
You will find the video file in your target directory under a folder named ipod. Copy the video file to your ipod and you are ready!
