You can download Vobsub from here. This program is freeware. Preparation: First of all you will have to setup Vobsub 2.23, which is a Freeware program. Vobsub is a program that checks your computer for available subtitles. In particular in order to spot the appropriate subs, you will have to rename the subs and avi name so to have the same title (e.g. titanic.avi, titanic.srt) and place them in the same folder. After installing Vobsub 2.23, go to start - all programs – VobSub - DirectVobsub configure. On tab “General”, on the Loading field select “always load” and hit apply button.
On tab “Misc” check the “pre-buffer subpicture” box and hit apply.
On tab “Main”, you are able to select the desired font, the font style, size color etc. Having finished with the above settings you will only have to download RMdll.zip and unzip it in the WinAVI folder. The Conversion: Run WinAVI and hit Menu – Options
Check the “Use Winavi Video Converter’s built-in cd burner” box and hit OK.
Hit the “DVD” button
Navigate through your files and select the desired avi file.
Go to the “Select Output Format” field and Select “DVD” and next hit the “Advanced” button.
On the “DVD” tab enter the following settings and hit OK.
Hit the OK button once again and the converting process will begin. Be sure that a green arrow appears on your tray, meaning that Vobsub is active. After the whole process has finished hit OK.
Now you are able to return to WinAVI and start with the burn process by clicking on the “Burn your VCD/SVCD/DVD Now” button.
Hit the “Add File(s)” button and select “DVD Movie”.
Navigate once again through your folders and select the folder that WinAVI had previously saved the movie files. Choose the VIDEO_TS folder and hit OK.
Finally enter an empty DVD disc on your DVD recorder and hit the “Starting to burn button”. Your DVD will be ready in a few minutes, depending on your recorder’s speed.
