A few minutes ago Google announced in its blog the release of Chromium OS , Google's Operating System. It's moto is "It's all about web". By this it means that all applications run through the browser. Therefore the user doesn't have to deal with installing and updating applications. Secondly they have paid attention to the security of their new Operating System. Thirdly it's speed that matters. Turning on the computer to browsing the web shoult take a few seconds! Chrome OS is an open source project which means that anyone can read its code and help on its developement. Here is Chromium OS source. Of course still there is a lot of work to be done. The official release is planned for this time next year. It seems that Google wants to transfer our computers and data on the cloud. Time will show if users will accept it.
