ConclusionVirtualBox is an excellent application for virtualization purposes. This way you can run not only Ubuntu within your Windows installation but as many guest OSes as you want. Well as many as your CPU and RAM can handle. Now you can explore Ubuntu and Linux and if you like it why not install it natively on your computer!Below you can see Ubuntu Linux running on Windows.  And this is VirtualBox's seamless mode!

After reading this tutorial can see where the mistake was made when installing Ubuntu on my XP machine thanks Will go and redo it and see what happens with virtual OS |

sudo bash ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run didn't work in Ubuntu 8.10? If so, I should change it. In 8.04 it has. You can see it in the screenshot of the guide just below the command.  |

this is the clearest explanation for installation that I have seen. Thanks. I was able to run VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run Screen resolution works. If you ever revise this, maybe add something about getting the internet connection to work. Thanks again. |
