In the main window you can select input files (1), set output file names (2), select the video format you can want to convert the file to (3) and also select the better profile for your needs through a wide variety of ready profiles (4). There are profiles for iPOD, PSP, Zune, Mobile Phones, Creative Zen, DVDs, SWF and many many other formats with different codecs and settings!
If you double click the advanced button you can view information about the Input/Output files and you can also change the Aspect Ratio for the formats that support it. For example you can choose between 16:9 and 4:3 ratio for DVDs.
Moreover you can edit the predefined Profile settings by clicking the Edit Profile... button in the main window. You can also save the changes to a new profile!

Just click the Add... button and select the effect you want to apply (1). By using the timeline (2) you can select in which part of the video you want the effects to be applied. Finally use the Preview button to check your changes (3).
Creating your own DVDs/VCDs/SVCDsAVS Video Converter allows you to create DVDs/VCDs/SVCDs with menus which you can play in any standalone DVD player. Click on the To DVD button (1) and select the DVD format you want to save the video to. NTSC is for USA and Canada and PAL for Europe (2).
To customize your DVD and add a menu to it click on the Edit button. Now click on the Edit DVD menu button. Here you can use one of the predefined Menu Styles, use your own background image or custommize them with the programs editor (1). You can also create chapters for your DVD. To do so you must put some markers in the timeline in the places you want each chapter to be for easier accessing your movie.
